Twenty years of a therapist's work, free to start
The Atlas asks about your life and names the pattern running it, in one sitting. It is built from twenty years of work with clients and the thirty-three books of Michael Lauria, a qualified therapist and author. It takes about forty-five minutes, costs nothing, and ends in a written Record of that pattern, drawn from your own words. It is not therapy and not for crisis.

"I've been doing work on myself my whole life... But I never saw the decision I made when I was young, how to guard myself, to exile my vulnerability to protect it. I was trying to cure the symptoms but didn't see the underlying cause. Your work uncovers that."Lise
"The speed at which Michael's platform understands and digs into your issues is amazing. The Architect doesn't do the healing for you. What it does is to help you identify what you need and then give it to yourself. It's possibly the best investment in myself I've ever made."

What this is
This is the work of Michael Lauria, a qualified therapist. It looks at one thing: the pattern you learned as a child to stay safe, and how it keeps running your adult life long after it stopped protecting you. The Atlas is where you start. It asks about your life, follows your answers down to that pattern, and gives you a written Record of what it found.
Not a teacher, not a guru, not a spiritual brand. The Architect is the name for the part of you that can tell what's false in your life from what's real, and build on what's real. You already have it. Most people spend a lifetime learning to suppress it. The method is structural psychology, drawn from twenty years of work with clients. Now and then it borrows an old myth or symbol, where it names something better than clinical words can.
Where to start
A guided conversation, run by AI and built from the whole of the work: thirty-three books, over 550 episodes, and the clinical framework beneath all of it.
You bring the thing you keep doing, or the thing that never sits right. It asks questions, follows your answers all the way down to the pattern underneath, and hands you a written Record of what it found. It takes about forty-five minutes. The Record is yours to keep, whether you ever come back or not.

Where the ideas come from
Psychology has old roots. The Greek philosophers asked these questions first. The alchemists wrote about them in symbols, and the psychiatrist Carl Jung spent his life decoding those symbols. The old myths tell the same story again. People have been describing how a life gets stuck for thousands of years, in books most of us will never have the time to read.
The work here pulls all of it into one framework. It takes what has always been true, strips the period costume, and sets it down in a form a modern person can actually use. You don't have to read the ancient texts or the giant old reference books to get what they were pointing at. That's the whole service of it.
About Michael
I'm not The Architect. That's the name for the part in each of us that sees what's false and builds what's true. I'm the man who stopped getting in its way, and then put what I learned into a body of work anyone can use.
I hold a Diploma of Counselling and I'm a certified marriage and family therapist. I've been in practice since 2006, more than twenty years and 25,000 hours with clients: men, women and couples. Along the way I trained in alcohol and drug counselling, spent twelve months on Lifeline, Australia's suicide hotline, and certified in suicide prevention, and spent two years sitting with people in hospice.
I began a degree in psychology and chose not to finish it. Qualifying as a psychologist would have tied me to a limited and narrower way of working than the path I wanted to take. I tell that story in Twenty Years in the Chair.
For twenty years I sat with clients and watched the same structure run underneath very different lives. The same self-sacrifice, dressed up as virtue. The same hurt part, shut away in childhood, running the whole show from behind. The books, the recordings and the Atlas put that work where you don't need an appointment or a fee to start. I didn't build a following. I built a way through.
What I don't claim. I don't claim that anything here, the Atlas, the Thread, the courses or the assessments, replaces one-on-one therapy, and none of it is for crisis, suicide prevention or suicidal ideation, diagnosed psychiatric illness or acquired brain injury (ABI), or for treating addiction. If you're in crisis, start with a person. Many people use this work alongside their therapy. Others have chosen differently. Here is what some of them have written to me.
“This has done more for me so far than years of therapy.”Daniel, studying to be a therapist
“I actually suspended my therapy sessions because I got more out of the initial … with your AI than I had with her in over two months.”Allyson
“This has been a couple of weeks that have done what 15 years of therapy and reading and studying and even prayer could not do.”Koren
“I'm a graduate student in counseling and have my own therapist and the insights were spot on.”Livleen, on Facebook
